why people say dont try to be too smart, or dont show your smartness to me?

I was with this friend, I was taking some amazing things, like space and technology, but he stooped me say , don't try to be too smart rather he just told me dont SHOW your Fake smartness. Now, I knows I am talking the truth, I have evidence, but my friend just refused to talk to me in the regard?

Why some people don't like to listen when you speak things that they can't understand properly, what is the reason behind stooping the person who is speaking? should;nt they have to ask the question instead?
