why only one year on the 2 into 1

I talked to a dealer that I know and happened to mention the change back and asked why MOCO did it. The reply was that the main reason was due to rider complaints about the heat generated on the right side. Looks might have come into it, but he said it was HEAT.

So the fix is to put mufflers with CATS on both sides so you can roast your nuts evenly!

I have had enough. I am taking my 2-1 and going home.
 
Thought the 2-1 looked OK, but prefer the 2-1-2 for looks on baggers. With the cats in the head pipe now I don't care what they come with...I'm replacing the entire exhaust asap anyway.
 
I prefer the look of the dual exhaust and hate the heat created by the 2-1. That's why I decided to scrap the entire exhaust and get a 2-1-2 setup to replace it (on it's way now).
 
If they wanted that ugly stink'in dual exhaust, people should have just bought one of the dressers. The street glide is a Sporty touring bike and the higher performance, lighter weight and sporty looks of the 2 into 1 should have stayed with the Street Glidee. Whinny crybaby tasteless knob heads !!. Sure glad I bought the 2010.......
 
Dres,,, I think the cat is still in the same place, and it goes to two after. Hence the name, 2-1-2 on the 09s, and 11s and all the 10 and up tourers,, (besides the SG and RG in 10) Now it's still probably cooler than with the 2-1 though, since the heat is not all staying on the right.

I have not noticed, did they go back to dual muffs on the RG? I would guess so..
 
I'm glad they went back to the more traditional look. I think The MoCo was looking for a way to handle the heat problem, and just had too much customer grumbling.

With sales down, you sure don't want an unhappy customer base.
