Why on the 2nd week of dieting am I putting on weight?

Last week on a 1000 calorie diet plan which involves healthy eating , 3 meals a day with healthy snacks in between- i managed to lose 4.4lbs but it has now got into the 2nd week and i've been putting on nearly a pound a day, so i boosted it up to 1200 calories which is the recommended amount for a diet plan but it hasn't helped. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or helpful advice to get me back to losing weight?
