why my computer unable to detect external hard disk hp pocket media drive?

i have external hard disk hp pocket media drive 80GB and my computer unable to detect it, but the green light is working, any one can help me to fix my problem?
It was working befor but now its just stoped! i tryed to use it with another computer but its not working too!
