Migrating tribes caused the fall of the Roman Empire and the fall of civilization in Europe. Civilization survived around the Middle East where all the Muslims were living. While Europe lived in the dark age Muslims carried civilization and it spread back to Europe when the Europeans started to trade at the end of the dark age.
