My wife is 39 and has knee osteoarthritis that came about suddenly 1 year ago.
Everytime she does an exercise where she has to flex the knee it will hurt after. Eliptical, recumbant bike, even swimming. She's very skinny, so weight isn't an issue.
Leg lifts don't give her any pain and she does that a lot. Even squats are ok for her because it's not bending the knee many times (60 squats) compared to a cardio exercise like bike or swimming which would be 1000s of bends. Or at least that's what we guess causes the pain.
The pain she feels from this is only afterwards. Not during the exercise.
I thought low impact cardio was the best for knee osteoarthritis. Any suggestions, or maybe there's something else wrong?
