He was not a horrible man, but he was far from this Great Man that he is perceived as today. Look he had a good message, that all people should be treated equal since we are all equal, I don't disagree with that at all. Everyone regardless of Race, Religion, Color, Creed, or Sex is created equal, we can all do things to screw that as we go on.I am not racist in any way. But my point here is that Martin Luther King was a Communist Sympathizer if not full blown Communist himself. He Plagiarized many of his speeches, he abused his wife. He was in being Investigated by the FBI for ties to Communists and Spies for Russia. He was quoted saying that "U.S Servicemen serving in Vietnam were like Nazi's".Hell the man had many quotes that were uncanny that he was saying this stuff to people. He was not this Great Man as he is being remember for. The making of his birthday into a National Holiday was all Politics, and was pretty much forced into action, because so many people knew the truth. So why are schools not teaching the truth about him? Is it that the message he put forth was more important than the man himself? If that's the case there were many other Civil Rights Leaders that were far more innocent and not Hypocrites and Criminals like he was, why isn't there a National Holiday for those people? All in all, I know the truth about this man , as many others do too. He does not deserve a National Holiday, and people deserve to know the truth.Give the Holiday to any other Civil Rights Leader that was a far better human being, hell give it to Rosa Parks, any of them.racing and CBjack, I agree with you both. I am not saying that the mans dream, his vision wasn't a good one. It would be the best thing if people could all see each other as equals. But I am just saying that the man does not deserve a Federal Holiday and that people need to know the truth about him. He wasn't a horrible man, but he wasn't a good man either. There are many other Civil Rights Leaders that were and are good, that deserve more than he does. He became popular because of Politics and Sadly enough because of his Assassination.Anyway I am not arguing with you two, I just wanted to reiterate my position.Unfortunately most of the sites that promote the truth about King are actually White Supremacist websites. And although I loathe their warped views on other Races and Religions, they are the ones that put the info out there. They are not just saying crap either they always put sources in with their statements. For example, like where to find it in Transcripts from Congressional Hearings and such. I will not post links here to any of those sites because I find 99.9% of them Vile and full of hate. That .1% though about King is very accurate and like I said with sources. So if you would like to read those areas, and see the sources I will give you them in an email. Just send me an email and let me know. And I highly suggest that you don't bother with any other part of those sites .There is one site that I will post that has more info, and it is NOT a Racist Site at all, more Religion Based.http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/mlk_jr-exposed.htmNot the best but only 1 i will post.

Political Correctness has entered too much of out society. These teachers and professors have totally brainwashed our schools and country. Ive read several books and magazine articles about Dr King to know he wasnt perfect. Just a man born at a time of stuggles and strife in our country. Being a public speaker and preacher just gave him a platform. As well as living in the South, where most of the hateful attacks were taking place. History is about places and dates.THe FBI was spying on lots of people. Dr King wasnt the only person under surveillance. The paranoid director had more dirt under HIS nails than the people he was watching. But timing and history means more to public people than the people in the background. Does Dr King deserve a national holiday? NO. Even he would agree, if he were alive. He was too humble. Heck, he was born Jan. 15th anyway! Not the 19th!

He is just a figure head. He gave good speeches and had very good ideas. Just because his ideas of equality have been ignored by our government and it's affirmative action programs, does not mean they weren't good ideas. Maybe someday we will not discriminate because of color. Just like he dreamed.

The lefties love commies?Do you have links to this information. I'd like to check it out. Especially the quote about U.S. Servicemen.

In your rant you seem to give him points on all subjects and then take a little back. The man led a movement for the deserved equality of his fellow man. He never used his personal behavior as an example for people to follow, he only stated the obvious. I have visited the spot where he was killed in Memphis and it would do you well to go there and see for yourself whether he was a truly great man or not. I am white btw. It is a moving place where a man who fought for his belief was killed. I truly believe Dr. King should be honored for his work and sacrifice. I also served in Vietnam amd was called many things by people who were dealing with emotions. I never heard Dr. King call anyone a bad name, but if he did it was his opinion and was entitled to it. I hold no hard feelings for him. Everyone that disagreed with thew gov. in the 50's and 60's was a suspected communist, whatever that is. Yes, I do honor this man and am big enough to look over any misgivings that he may have had.
