Does anyone else agree with me that our government should be doing something about the high price of gas? What is causing oil prices to raise so sharply? I have heard we have plenty of gas right here in the US, but instead we are buying it from other countrys. That makes no sense to me. Can anyone explain? Could this be some sort of terrorist tatic to try to ruin the economy of the United States?

I wish i knew that answer, it's crazy the money the oil companies are making while i'm worring about getting to my job.

there is nothing that can be done.

as long as saudi arabia is at bad terms w/ u.s. gas prices will stay high, and it doesn't look like the saudis are going to be any more reasoonable in the forseeable future.

and ethanol doesn't work, if we use up all the corn for ethanol then there is no corn left for everything else, and EVERYTHING is made of corn, from flour (which makes up bread, dough and cereals) to plastics so Ethonal is not the answer.

I think that electric cars, hybrids, geothermal energy and hydrogen cells are the answer, so the only thing that can be done about gas is to migrate away from using it.

I agree that the government should at least be investigating for possible price gouging. Instead, Arlen Specter is worried about whether the Patriots videotaped a practice at a Super Bowl 5 or 6 years ago. Ridiculous.
