Why isn't Pepsi and Coke getting the same favors as GM, AIG, Chrysler and the banks?

Instead of any perks from the administration they are placing a heavier tax on soft drinks to help pay for health care. I guess Coke and Pepsi didn't give large enough campaign donations to Obama or members of Congress. From what they tell us, cars are worse for our health and the entire world than a can of pop, but they are giving all kinds of incentive to buy those. Seems like more hypocrisy.

Keep this in mind, California has had a nickle tax on pop tops for years, and redeem it when you recyle. Trouble is, CA is broke, so taxing isn't the answer, reducing spending is.
