I've got an HP Compaq Presario laptop that I've had for about 14 months. Up until the past week or so it's been working absolutely fine.
However, in this last wee while the laptop cable isn't working properly. The round end that connects to the laptop (sorry, don't know technical terms) doesn't seem to be connecting properly. The laptop will tell me it's not plugged in when it is, I have to take out this round cable and put it in two or three times, twisting as I go to make it sit right.
Sometimes it really does take a lot of attempts for the laptop to realise it's plugged in and it seems to be steadily getting worse. My cable and laptop look fine, I haven't spilt anything on them and I'm generally pretty careful with them.
So what's causing it and how do I fix it? Do I need a new cable? I know I can normally fix it but I'm worried it'll happen when I'm working on something important and I won't be able to sort it in time.
Thanks
