There's a bit of a long story to this...
For the past couple of weeks he's been reeeeally hungry, begging for more food all the time and trying to get the family's food. We realised we'd been giving him too many treats so we stopped treating him except once a day and stopped giving him any 'human food' (cooking scraps, leftovers etc. - we used to give him small quantities).
Thursday morning we took him to the vet for his annual vaccinations and a check-up and the vet said he was fine and healthy and didn't need any more food. He's also recently wormed.
Friday lunchtime, he stopped eating, and he's only had a few mouthfuls in the two days since.
Could he be under the weather because of the injection he got?
He doesn't seem sick. He's still running about and playing, going out, and sleeping as usual. But he isn't asking for any food and when I give him his meals he sniffs the food then ignores it.
HOWEVER, if I give him 'human food' such as some cooked chicken or tuna, or cat treat biscuits, he wolfs them down. But as I say, he doesn't pester us for them like he used to.
He's eaten very little for 48hrs now. Is he sick or is he playing me? Should I give him tuna just so I know he's eaten something or is that asking for more trouble later?? He is still drinking - more than usual in fact but I guess that could be because he isn't getting his usual wet food. Can't tell you about his toilet habits because he always goes out. Should I whisk him to the vet tomorrow or give it a couple of days?
