Why isn't my car stereo getting good reception?

So I have a 2000 Corolla. I bought an aftermarket deck for my sound system (Pioneer DEH-2000MP) and installed it. When the basic deck was in the car, the reception was great, but now with the new deck it gets bad reception. Any solutions?

I have made sure the antenna wire is fully inserted.

Make sure that who ever installed the new Headunit has connected the Antenna Lead wire.

This is basically the reception wire from the antenna that hooks up to the back of the new Headunit. Maybe there is some obstruction or not connected all the way.

That is my only good hypothesis. I have the DEH 6800 and there's no problem at all.
