I brought my Beardie home 3 days ago. She is 3 months old, very active, sleeps well; the tank has perfect heat, and lighting, and she stays hydrated. From the minute she wakes up she acts like shes starving. I try to feed her twice a day, but she is completely uninterested until a couple of hours before she goes to sleep, even then she only eats 5 or 6. Shouldn't she be eating 25-50 a day? Is this a normal time for them to eat? Is she just trying to get used to the new environment?
The crickets are medium size. She could eat large ones, judging by the distance. I'm wondering if larger ones would be easier to catch. I've tried both cage and plastic tote, thinking along the same lines you did. She just has no interest in them until a couple hours before bed. She eats a couple and then shes uninterested in the rest of them.
