I have a 8 yr. old son who is very active in church and loves to read his bible daily. His class at school has "reading time",which means they are allowed to bring a book from home or check a book out from the library and read for the 30 min."reading time".So my son decided to bring his bible since he is trying to memorize some verses that he earns points for at his church.Well his teacher took his bible away from him and told him to "never bring it again to school,it was very inappropriate".My son was very hurt, and he came home asking me why reading the bible was inappropriate?I then questioned him,and thats when he told me what happened.I went to the school to talk 2 his teacher and she got upset and just told me the same thing, that it was inappropriate.Im very upset because I think my child should be able to read his bible, and not be taught that its something bad and inappropriate!Does anyone know if this is even legal or if he has the right to his bible?
