Why isn't anyone talking about the complete failure of the US Intelligence Committee...

...to predict Tunisia, Egypt? Why isn't anyone talking about the complete failure of the US Intelligence Committee to predict Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, etc.?

With the extra hundreds of billions (if not trillions) of dollars spent on the US Military and intelligence efforts through out the past decade, the US was caught completely off guard.

Either no one in the intelligence committee knew about what was going on, or the information did not filter through (which was the same problem we had with 9/11).

So my question is, what has changed since 9/11 to protect US citizens? What have things like The Patriot Act and the TSA done other than take away rights? It's obvious the intelligence committee has not changed.

This isn't a criticism of current policies, frankly there are enough threads and articles about that. I actually prefer this to be a frank discussion from people who support the new TSA policies, the Patriot Act, etc. and to see why they support these new laws and what they've actually done to help us.
For those of you asking "How do I know they didn't predict it", this is how: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/02/04/world/main7317044.shtml along with other news sources.
