Why is Tmobile such a d-bag wireless provider?

I have been with them for 4 years, I want to change my family plan to a cheaper one with unlimited texting for all, but in order to get free/reduced price phones they tell me I have to cancel my current plan and sign a new contract, which means I have to change my phone number....

I don't want to change my god damn phone number just to stay with the current crappy service I'm getting (no bars at my university) already.

Does anyone have any tips/advice as how to strongarm tmobile into meeting all my demands? What I am simply asking them to do is

1) Upgrade my current family plan to a different one which would save me about $15/month
2) Give me free/reduce priced phones that say FREE on their website for free
3) Wave all the activation fees and other hidden ones (The lady I talked to already said she'd do this before)
4) Keep my phone number, WITHOUT a new contract/paying FULL PRICE for phones that are MUCH CHEAPER/FREE on their website, just because I am choosing to upgrade....

I'd appreciate all the advice I can get on this, I have 3 days left in my current deal!

Has anyone pushed around Tmobile reps and gotten their way before? I have no objection to bullying my way to get what I want, I mean I've been with them for 4+ years now, you think they'd have more simpathy to their loyal customers.
