I found out it is normal for guys and I guess people in general but mostly for guys to be clingy in their first serious relationship. I learned my lesson the first time but I would have liked a tip like hey in your first relationship with a girl you should take it easy 
I know people are not supposed to hold your hand in life but crap why is this not more widely known or discussed?
(This is a generalization for males but in my personal experience and what I hear from otheres it is normal for guys to be clingy when they have their first real GF)
