There is no war. Now we are occupying until the new government is able to sustain itself. If that seems wrong, then we need to ask ourselves, why are we still occupying Germany, Japan, and dozens of other nations. They want us there. They need us there. This has nothing to do with oil or greed. It has to do with their neighbor Iran being on the move and needing us there to keep them in check.

because we destroyed their country and when we try to rebuild it, they fight us and want us out of their but now that were involved we cant get out, were scared we could may even get bombed. this all started when all you guys voted for BUSH!

um because theyve been fighting for all of history?

perhaps because of the lack of a decent governemtn?
maybe because everyone has their own agenda?
maybe because there are different relgions?
maybe because there are infiltrators all over the place there?

this is kind of an insane question, to be honest

I believe the US anticipated that the Iraqis would be more ready to step up to the plate and take control of their own country, but they have failed to do that to this point with any degree of stability. Should the US troops attempt to leave before the Iraqis can "hold down the fort", the last troops in would be in tremendous peril, and any equipment/ammunition left in country would instantly fall into the hands of Muslim extremists and terrorists. The fact that the Iran Pres is over there now trying to get a foothold is another huge reason we need to stay---that's the last thing we need for Achmidinijad (sp?) and Hugo Chavez to seize control of Iraq.

If you think it's just about oil, you are very short-sighted. It's about the war on terror, about stability in the Middle East, and very much about jihad and the end times. When we as a nation stop standing with Israel and other free nations in the Middle East and turn our backs while despots and Muslim extremists take over that region, we might as well lay down and roll over because they will be over here next and make 9/11 look like a picnic in the park.
