Why is there so much hype about Google Chrome when all it does is crash?

I finally gave in and downloaded the web browser Chrome due to everyone's recommendation and omg it is so friggin annoying every other time I need to refresh or go to a page it loads and loads then displays a message that says "Oops! Google Chrome could not find www."xyz".com"
I never have this problem (or at least very infrequently once in a while only) with Firefox! I've had enough of Chrome. Do you experience this too?
