i bought the tetra NH3/NH4+ ammonia testing kit and it has Phenol (carbolic acid) in it. i hear that's a strong corrosive chemical. now what i need to know is why is it in there and what is its purpose?
also the one bottle that has the Phenol in it smells weird is that the phenol or sodium nitroprusside dihydrate or the isopropanol that is what the smell is from?
