...Jerusalem? Why is there no historical evidence for the hordes of zombies that wandered around Jerusalem after Jesus' resurrection?

Matthew 27:52-53 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Something as significant as zombies rising from their graves, wandering around Jerusalem and being seen by many would have been recorded somewhere other than just the book of Matthew. The Romans were notorious records keepers and surely would have mentioned all of the zombies wandering around. Why is it that only two verses in a single book of the Bible record such an unusual event? If something like this were to happen today, many people would write about it, many people would be talking about it for years to come. For some strange reason, this significant event wasn't recorded by anyone other than the author of Matthew 27. Is it possible that the story was simply made up and never happened? Is it possible that there were no undead wandering the streets of a major city for all to see? Is it possible that this is nothing more than a work of fiction?
@ Richard > Since bodies were not buried within the city walls, are you saying the earthquake to throw all those bodies over the walls and into the city? The text clearly says, " and went into the holy city."
