I've been reading some older Q&A posted here about Deion Sanders. Whether he was faster the Devin Hester because Hester was the first one in Madden to get 100 speed. Also I saw a question about Deion vs Rice with a totally biased best answer chosen, obviously from a 49ers fan.
The point is, in my 20+ years of watching football, I've NEVER seen anyone as fast as Deion Sanders! And I was never a Falcons or Cowboys fan.
First of all I know he was a lousy tackler, but opposing quarterbacks didn't even throw the ball to his SIDE of the field!
Second he played two sports at the same time! That probably caused him to be more exhausted than the normal player. Imagine if he devoted his time to just playing football!
Someone also said players are faster than they used to be. That is true if you go back to 1960, but in the 90's the players were just as fast, it's not like humans have evolved in 10 years! They picked the fastest players in the 90's just like they do now!
Deion was the first person that would actually dare to toy with the opponents as he ran a punt return back for a touchdown or intercept it and take it to the house. He would point the ball either towards the end zone or at the opponent as he skated right in. I don't like when players do that, especially when they are average, but Deion gets a pass on doing it because he was so good.
I think there are probably just too many young people commenting on stuff that happened when they were newborn babies!
