Why is there a blank disc in Dante's Inferno Divine Edition?

When I purchased Dante's Inferno Divine Edition for the PS3 there was a blank disc in the box. No game, just a blank disc. I want to know if I have to buy the original version of Dante's Inferno to be able to play the game. Please let me know if you have the answer to this. Thank You.
