Why is the pronuoncation "Ban-i-SHEF-ski" (Baniszewski) ominous? I saw this from a passage "A Young, Tortured Girl is Dead" happened on October 26, 1965. I can't understand why the pronouncation is ominous?
The sentence is: That woman's name was Gertrude Baniszewski (pronounced "Ban-i-SHEF-ski" rather than the more fittingly ominously sounding way it looks like it should be said: "Ban-i-ZOO-ski").
Thanks very much.
