Why is The Painted Man by Peter V. Brett so damn expensive as a hardcover?

I've found two. $251 USD for a used one, and 449 pound sterling for a New one. what the hell? surly a book thats only a few years old can't have gotten that rare that quickly could it?
 
I can only imagine it's because there are only a few. Same as 'the great bazaar' by Brett, I want to read it but can't get a copy cheap enough or find an ebook of it. Sucks!! I have desert spear in hardback, but I need the painted man in hardback to match... but I refuse to pay the money!!
