shouldn't it be that the muslim prayer was allowed to start the Florida session ?

lookup sharia law and see what would have happened to George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, 80 % of the US population today and during the time the constitution was written, if they lived under it.
 
i don't blame him at all. but could you imagine the reaction of the other religions, or even athiests if the florida leader had wanted to pray to God Almighty, in the name of Jesus Christ?, he would have been railroaded out of town.
 
Perhaps the media saw it as a sign of disrespect for one of world's great religions. And this is newsworthy in a pluralistic society such as USA, which prides itself on tolerance and acceptance of immigrants and their cultures from all over the world.

American slaves lived under worse law than Shariah during George Washington's time. And George Washington was a slave owner himself.

A Constitution that allowed slavery to flourish couldn't have been that much better than the Shariah law. Perhaps the main difference between the two is that the American Constitution was reformed and made better after the Civil War. While the Shariah law remained the same.
