quickly/causing my car to misfire? I have replaced the ignition coil in cylinder 8 of my 1999 ford mustang gt 4.6l 5 speed/manual 3 times within the last 3 months. The last time i replaced the coil in that cylinder i also changed out all my spark plugs. the car has 100,000 miles on it, and the problem always seems to come back and it rains and then stays.... When i replace the ignition coil in cylinder 8 the car stops misfiring and goes back to normal but when the problem comes back the service engine light blinks and when i accelerate the car stumbles and stutters. According the the owners manual when the SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS IT INDICATES A MISFIRE. someone please help, the coil is expensive and advanced auto parts isn't going to keep replacing it, something is making the coil/car in cylinder 8 do this. I first learned cylinder 8 was the issue by plugging in a scanner which revealed the code for a misfire in that location. The same went for the 2nd time this occurred and I am positive it shall go again when I do it next..
