...so pervasive? There are plenty of vocational programs that lead to decent wages/salary. They won't lead to luxury, but they won't lead to poverty either.
If you're clever, resourceful and have a chunk of luck, it can even possible to make good things happen with no education (though of course education of some sort is generally the best plan).
There are also plenty of Bachelors degree programs that lead to very poor career prospects. In fact, it's probably easier to find Bachelors degree programs that lead to Burger King than to find vocational programs that go nowhere (since the liberal arts are no longer valued, and since vocational programs are specifically intended for career training).
None of this is news to any of the regulars here, I'm sure of that. But why is that SO many people believe that if a person doesn't go to college/university that they will be forever locked below $9 an hour?
