who benefits from this switch to d tv? do broadcasting stations benefit? why can't stations send analog and digital signals? does the government benefit from the switch?

TV wants to develop - the analog net has rather big limits when it comes to quality widescreen and high-resolution broadcasts.

Well it has more benefits than one might think. you wont be able to receive analog signals anymore (really old technology) this law forces the Television stations to upgrade signal that you receive. it gives you a better quality picture for FREE TO AIR signals. they have also a extended period of time to update your TV to receive Digital signals. besides the new televisions really look crappy with analog signals anyways.
