Why is the character creation in KOTOR 2 only showing grey boxes and nothing else on

my computer? When I go to create a character in Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic 2 it ends up flickering random graphics and only showing grey boxes where the characters should be. Any idea on how to fix this? Everything in my computer should be strong enough to run it well.
