More or less, it's because it's not "traditional." Sure, it might have something to do with Christianity and what we were founded on, but there are plenty of non-Christian laws and thoughts in the legal system. It seems that people are so concerned with things that are out of the norm. It's a prejudice. They don't agree with it, so they try and stop it. I think it goes against everything America represents: freedom. If we are truly free, can we not marry who we please? It's stupid, and people should be allowed to marry those of the same gender if they so wish.
