In my biology experiment, I investigated the effect of light quantity and quality on the rate of photosynthesis by Elodea (a waterplant). This done by wrapping different layers of green cellophane around the test tube which had the Elodea and I measured the rate of photosynthesis by using a dissolved oxygen probe (so that ONLY detected concentrations of DISSOLVED oxygen).
One of my major errors in the design was that due to limited access to the waterplant, I had to reuse some of them. I know that this is an error, but I can't figure out why. So here's my question: why is it an error? Is it because they have already been exposed to a particular light intensity?
Okay... so other than the fact that reusing is not correct in experiments... are there any other reasons for this error? In my discussion I need to discuss why it's an error.
