Why is Obama considered insightful when he discusses mid-America's bitterness?

Why do Obama supports run to his aid and say how insightful he is about understanding mid America's bitterness, but don't give the same courtesy to Bill Cosby (or god forbid a white person) when discussing inner city black youth?
Edit:
Again, everyone runs to Obama's aid. No mention about Bill Cosby's insight. I guess a PhD in education from Temple (a school in inner City Phil.) doesn't hold up to a Harvard Law Degree.
Edit:
A bill Cosby quote:
""People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around. ... The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting," he said, addressing an audience of Washington VIPs.

"Brown versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. ... They are standing on the corner and they can't speak English."
Edit:

Cory, you do realize Bill Cosby is a black man, don't you!!!!!
