Dr. Phil's Prized Parrot

I have recently started playing Morrowind: Game of the Year on my original Xbox and it will randomly freeze.
It has happened twice already.
When the game froze last night, I heard a buzz-like sound from either the game itself or the console.
I have had my Xbox since they first came out but it still works pretty well and nine times out of ten it's fine.
I did buy a used copy of Morrowind but it has no scratches on it.
Could dust be the culprit?
I wiped off the top and sides of my Xbox a bit before playing it.
I also thought I might be low on internal memory but I wasn't.
However, I decided to delete a lot of old saves anyway.
Can someone please help me?
