Why is my television flashing?

Earlier today, my kids and i were watching tv and it just started flashing from the channel to black and back, also it was changing channels while flashing... what is wrong with my tv... its an RCA and we bought it about 4 years ago.

it's either taking pictures of you or it is committing a leud act

Check your SCART lead is in properly- it might be a bit loose
