Why is my sony stereo not turning on any more?

all of a sudden my stereo is not turning on. ive tried everything the book says(back vents, speakers connected, outlet plug) and nothing works. the power button keeps blinking. can anybody help me with this its really frustrating?
 
To the nooblet that says get an iPod, I have an iPod and I JUST got a stereo.

It really all depends on what model you have. If you have the nice $200 one from Wal-Mart, you can do a factory reset.

The only other thing that I can say is to keep it unplugged overnight.
 
Have you tried unplugging it for a minute and then plugging it back in?

There are some unusual resets with many Sony stereos. One thing for sure: they have very good customer service but I think it's pretty much Monday to Friday. sony.com if you're in the U.S.; sony.ca in Canada and they have toll free phone help too. Good luck.

p.s....if you don't get it going, the safest was to leave it is UNplugged.
