Seems to sputter randomly while driving, never when stopped (so I doubt distributor) or at idle. Has a rough idle due to one of the pistons not having enough pressure (currently using Restore for that). Also, not -always- but every once in awhile it will accelerate on it's own and the RPMs will jump to 3000 when put in park. Is there such thing as a vacuum leak that only becomes troublesome some of the time?
I'm sorry, it's a 96. I've only owned the car a week, had it serviced at Meineke and they told me of the cylinder. Said it was probably rings hence the Restore. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets in the car over the weekend, and the idle control was replaced by meineke. Originally it was ALWAYS idling at 2500. Like I said, now it's just once in awhile, after a bad case of sputtering.
