i am not positive about the eating but it appears that the tank is too large, they like small bowls to be happy, and they don't eat much i mean think of the size of their stomachs :)

hope that helps

i just bought a betta fish yesterday and all he has eaten since was one pellet of wardley betta food. he just looks at the pellets floating in the top of the tank and when they start to sink he goes after them, eat them, and spits them out. the temperature of water is 71 degrees Fahrenheit and its a 2.5 gallon tank. the only reason i signed up for yahoo was to ask for advice. please give me some advice
thanks

Your fish isn't eating because he is adjusting. He will eat eventually, when he gets comfortable. Although, make sure the tank is cycled, if not, he won't survive long.

You want real advice? I advise you to get a 4 or 5 gallon tank, a heater, a filter, and make sure it is cycled. He will do so much better...
