She refuses to have contact with me over the phone. I have emailed her before about getting together and making dinner for the whole family with her. She never responded. I have gone out of my way to contact her and try to form a relationship but she is barely responsive.
If I ask her any question or even make conversation she picks everything I say apart. She acts like anything I do is done with some bad intention. When I tried to confront her via email instead of responding back like a normal person she contacted my husband to tell him that my email was ugly and hurtful.. [ugh]
I don't know what to do at this point because I have read my email over several times and have yet to interpreat it as ugly. There was nothing bad about my email except telling her how she has made me feel which is bad feelings but it is the truth. I find it hard to lie and I don't want to be around a person that doesn't accept me. A person who won’t speak to me on the phone and who tries to turn everything I say into an personal insult!
In short: What is up with my mother in law? Why has she not even been receptive to my attempts at forming a relationship with her? Will we ever be able to get past this point?
