I flushed the radiator, no sludge, I changed the thermostat, and it still seems to be smoking.........Whats the purposeof the fans and at what point are they supposed to engage?
the fans suck air through the radiator to cool down the coolant......if your fans aren't kicking on around 210 degrees then they aren't working properly.......if you have A/C you can turn that on and the fan should kick on then....that is a way to test the fan itself.
if you don't have A/C then you'll have to hook up a jumper wire and apply 12V power to the fan to see if it works.....if the fan works then it's probably a faulty fan relay.
When your rad is smoking or, actually steaming, check to see if your fan is turning. If it is not then this is your problem.Fans run off a thermocoupler .your problem is most likely here or the fan motor.
