In my tropical tank I have 2 Tetras, 2 male Guppys and a Platy. One of the Guppys have started to loose their colour. I've been researching on the internet and found out if water quality is bad, then Guppys are likely to loose colour. If water quality was bad wouldn't the other Guppy loose colour too? Also, I've herd another cause of colour loss is stress. I don't know why it could be stressed because my fish get fed twice a day, water temperature is perfect for tropical fish and the tank is in a quiet room. None of the other fish have lost colour. The Guppy is acting fine, swimming around as usual. It's just that it's colour has gone from bright yellow and jet black to dull yellow and grey. What could be wrong?

Wild or natural guppies do not have the colouration that you get from the shop . Breaders select the most colourfull . Your fish is reverting to its normal colouring . there are foods which enhance colour and the type of flourescent tube you have can make a lot of difference too . Tetra flake is the food i use for my fish .
