Alright, so I have had bad knees my who life. It runs in the family. Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, and so on have had knee surgery. I am only 14. I am very active in sports, Cross Country, Hockey and Track. In track I'm a jumper, high jump, long jump, Triple jump, hurdles, anything with jumping. I have also heard that jumping has a lot of impact on your knees. I went and visited a Doctor about them, and had several X-Rays, and an MRI done. They diagnosed me with Chondromalasia? Something to do with your knee being off track. Well that was a whole 2 months ago. I have been wearing knee braces when I am in Gym, or running and they seam to help a little bit. But ever since Hockey started a few weeks ago, my knee "crackling" noise is getting worse and worse. It starts with a few crackles and then followed by a pop. Only on the left knee though. My right one is not as severe. The Doctor said if I have any more problems then I should go in to see him again. He suggested that I have physical therapy, which I have been doing at home for the last 2 months. Nothing seams to be working. He also said that if the problem dosent clear up in 2 weeks, that I need to go in and get surgery. So... Im stuck between my love of my life, Hockey, or ... fixing my knee because you only have 1 pair of them.
