Why is my fish holding his jaw open?

My guppy male is holding his lower jaw open and sometimes he opens his mouth really wide but his lower jaw is usually always open. He also looks very grimy T_T......
Please can you identify what he has or give me a treatment for it? His gills also look a bit inflamed.

He might have an internal parasite.

I'm also thinking he could have bitten something too big and/or too sharp for his mouth. Just add 1/2 teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of his aquarium water, it might even do the other fish good.

If it's a contagion you might want to remove him and put him in a hospital tank
