Why is my facebook chat acting weird?

When i got on facebook today, I aoutomatically looked at the chat, and everyone knows that theres like a little chat box on the bottom gray bar that tells you how many friends you have online, well, instead of that, there was a little icon, and i clikced it, and it went to pop-out chat. i went to options and clicked pop-in chat, but nothing happened! I tried refreshing the page, and restarting the computer!! help!!!
