I have a 6 month old male kitten and he is getting more and more aggressive with food. he seems to be obsessed with it. when I go to put his food bowl on the floor he will growl and snarl at me, and grab huge chunks of food and run off with it. he wont let my 5 year old cat eat anything in the same room as him without attacking him.
the last situation which has alerted me to how bad things have gotten is when I had to put him outside the room so my other cat had a chance to eat something without being attacked and my kitten has literally thrown himself at the door to get in the room, ran at the food grabbed the lot and ran away with it, when I went to get it back off him he hissed, growled and snarled at me an tried to claw me.
he is due to be castrated in a week but I am concerned it wont help, ive heard that cats can be so aggressive that even castration doesn't do anything. I am 25 weeks pregnant and I am worried that if he doesn't calm down what's he going to be like when I try to feed my baby, and if my baby smells like food is he going to attack him too?
any advice would be welcome, if castration doesn't work im at a loss of what to do
