Why is my car's touch-up paint darker than the rest of the paint?

I bought the touch-up paint from the dealership so there's no doubt it's the right color.. I'm getting really worried that the paint is going to be darker than the rest of the body and then it'll look even worse than the chip before I tried repairing it! Is there any way to fix it if it does dry darker?? Is it only darker because it's still wet? Help!
