Ive been getting around 24 mpg since i got the car. Its a 1993 Honda civic EX 1.5L manual. First of all, i drive slow. I accelerate gently and brake gently. I also have maintenance up to date. regular oil changes with the right oil etc. air filter is clean, new fuel filter, everything is up to date. I cleaned out my air intake manifold and used some seafoam. Not much of a smoke show so im not suspecting a lot of carbon buildup. I have friends with civics, crvs, etc and they drive way faster than i do and they still get way better fuel economy than i do.. My idle speed is ok, checked engine timing and it was ok.... tires ok, brakes ok, suspension ok... anything you guys can think of? cuz 5 mpg is a lot.
removed excess cargo, tire pressures ok.
spark plugs look ok and i tested the resistance of my spark plugs and they are good
and no cracking or anything on my spark plug wires
and ya i checked my distributor cap. It was replaced right before i got the car. It also has a new clutch.
