Why is my ankle still hurting, and being weird?

Well, in December 2008 I was on a trampoline, and then my ankle give way. It had just went so weird. I'd fractured my left ankle, and my ankle was full of fluid, making it really big. Almost like I had an egg under my skin, next to my ankle. I was rushed to hospital, and I got a bandage on. I didn't really want a bandage on for Christmas, so I was trying to walk on it, trying to make it better quicker. It's now July 2009, and my ankle is still really weird. It sometimes hurts when I walk on it. I can't do circles with my left ankle, but can with my right ankle. It's fine when I walk, but before I fractured it, I walked weird. My dad said I walked 'inward' and I could see that from my shoes, and the shoes were all pushed in. Is this going to affect me in later life? I need to know whats wrong with my ankle. Just need some help. Thanks.

You shouldn't have walked on a fracture. Not until it was healed. The point of a bandage or cast is to immobilize the injury so that it heals properly.

Because you are saying that you no longer walk inward on that foot, I am going to assume that you may have muscle atrophy or the bones could've fused together improperly. You may have bone chips that they missed in the x-ray, and they could be causing tissue damage. That can cause swelling, tenderness, stiffness, and sometimes arthritis. You could have damaged something that was missed by the doctor, and has healed improperly.

It is very hard to say what may be wrong without a proper examination. You should have it checked by your doctor.

And as for walking on the insides of your feet:

"Over-pronation, or flat feet, is a common biomechanical problem that occurs in the walking process when a person's arch collapses upon weight bearing. This motion can cause extreme stress or inflammation on the plantar fascia, potentially causing severe discomfort and leading to other foot problems."

The youtube link is animation of over-pronation. It explains the probable outcome of walking inward.

Many people have that problem, yet it's more pronounced with some. It's usually easy to treat.
