The knocking/pinging/detonation happens only while the vehicle is in motion and under load. During acceleration and also climbing grades. It is worse as the rev's get higher. The pinging sounds like a small muffled pop/explosion with a slight metallic sound to it. And this ping happens multiple times in a second. Accompanied by a loss of power. This problem does not happen at idle, or by reving the engine in neutral or park. Only under load. I tried fresh gas and even a octane booster, the problem still seems to get worse. It also seemed to come on suddenly. I thank anyone who can help me with this.
