Why is it that when people see you do good in life, They want to try and bring you down?

So yesterday I'm busting my ass at work, and I get pulled in the manager's office and she tells me somebody told her I don't do any work. I mean I thought we were all grown people working in this company. Who the hell is somebody,pull them in this conference HELLO!! I'm so piss off.
